In response to world demand for economically priced, high performance linear motion slides and stages, Specialty Motions, Inc (SMI), a small US manufacturer, has developed a complete line of light weight, economy systems they call ECO stages®. These linear systems are designed to take advantage of newly developed lightweight, hardened aluminum shafting SMI calls Hardcoat Shafting®. SMI’s new Hardcoat shafting® coupled with recent advancements in thermoplastics and composite technologies allows SMI to create low drag, high capacity, long life linear system at prices far below current alternatives.
SMI has created three models of products in their ECO Stages® series with their Twn Lite® representing a low cost, long travel system designed to span unsupported lengths up to 36”, the ECO 33® which is a low cost, high capacity version designed to replace current expensive KR models, and SMI’s original ECO Stage® designed as a low cost, medium travel, medium capacity linear stage designed to fit a multitude of general applications. Each ECO Stage® comes with either lead screw or ball screw options, various stepper motor options and each is designed to accommodate customization of any part if required.
Specialty Motions, Inc. has been creating, designing, and building “off the shelf” and custom linear stages and actuators since 1990 and continues to develop front line, low cost products to help other US manufacturers compete in this ultra-competitive world economy.
