Quality Assurance
Our inspection capabilities include measuring capabilities at the micron levels with abilities to measure and record hardness levels.   Team SMI has built a new QC room, which is enclosed and controlled. We have recently added a laser interferometer for accurate and serialized system inspection.  Our quality assurance manual is available for review upon requests.
Engineering
Our engineering team is comprised of design engineers, applications engineers as well as field sales engineers.  This team of engineers is established to support customer requirements from application assistance from the component level through complete system design and integration. We operate with 3D modeling from Solid Works and a CAD/CAM system from MASTER CAM to support our engineering team. 
Materials
SMI has developed machining talents and skills, which include working in aluminum, (flat, bar, cast MIC and etc.) as well as plastics.  We have also become proficient in stainless steels and other familiar alloys, and of course, all hard and precision ground shafting and precision profile rails. Our CNC capability has allowed SMI to develop a more complete approach to system integration.  We are now capable of selecting and securing components at factory direct prices and assisting in the design and usage of these components at all levels of sophistication.  SMI is extremely proficient in the design, machining and integration of actuators, rolling elements, sensors, end supports, tabletops and any specially designed proprietary related products.
Assembly Department
SMI has created an assembly area complete with all tooling and knowledge required to assemble linear systems from the simplest to the most complex application specific stages, slides, robots and sub-assembly systems.  Team SMI has designed, created, machined and assembled a wide variety of stages, profile rail tables, ball slide assemblies as well as integration of complex customer specific designs up to and including electrical connectivity.
