When compared to the massive 33 series from the competition, the SMI™ ECO33™ Stage is less than half the weight and at half the price.

To accomplish this feat, SMI™ developed a new light weight shafting called Hardcoat™ Shafting.

Hardcoat™ Shafting is made from light weight aluminum, precision ground SMI™ tolerances and then plated with a proprietary anodizing process. We then embed our Hardcoat™ Shafting into a light weight 6061 aluminum cross section designed to handle the loads you require and preload our SMI™ polymer bearings against the Hardcoat™ for minimal clearance and maximum rigidity.

By combining our Hardcoat™ Shafting with SMI™ polymer bearings no lubrication is required for most typical applications.

We also add a Stainless Steel leadscrew with a self-lubricating thermoplastic drive nut and stainless steel end support bearings and again lubrication is not required.

Adding a 6061 aluminum stage body and carriage block with their black anodized plating, and the entire ECO33™ becomes corrosion resistant and lubrication free.
*Note: high speed and wash down applications will require special lubricants and attention. Motor must be rated for wash down and wet applications.

The SMI™ ECO33™ can be mounted horizontally or vertically or even inverted without loss of capacity. The ECO33™ can be configured in single axis or joined for multi axis applications with SMI™ optional mounting plates.

The ECO33™ is easily converted to any travel length required up to 36” without the needless “Custom” charges others apply to unusual lengths.
